Vehicles ranging from classic cars, supercars, motorcycles, trucks, classic buses, tractors, and military vehicles will all be on show alongside, summer jazz tunes and a dog show in the main ring. Just a short walk away, in Stow market square a selection of Salon Privé vehicles will arrive in the Square by mid-morning for people to enjoy. A fly past from a Spitfire and Hurricane from the RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also take place. Entry to the event is free, with any donations made used to raise funds for local charity organisations. We will also have a Newlands presence on the day, so please do pop to the cricket pitch and say hello. - [Harp recital by Jill Reynolds](https://newlandsofstow.co.uk/harp-recital-by-jill-reynolds/): We thoroughly enjoyed our regular harp recital from the hugely talented Jill Reynolds. Newlands of Stow Live a life less ordinary - [Pioneers in Retirement Living](https://newlandsofstow.co.uk/pioneers-in-retirement-living/): It’s no idle boast. Over thirty years ago, two men shared a visionary belief in a new way of retirement living. You can see it today in every aspect of Newlands of Stow and sister retirement community Bridge House of Twyford. Battling against a patchwork of disjointed government and commercial thinking, planning and building, they trod their own path to bring their pioneering ideas to fruition. It makes sense to let Amar, one of the founding directors, tell you how. - [The top hatter. Meet Eda Rose. Couture milliner extraordinaire](https://newlandsofstow.co.uk/the-top-hatter-meet-eda-rose-couture-milliner-extraordinaire/): Inventive, original, glamorous. - [It’s Wear A Hat Day](https://newlandsofstow.co.uk/its-wear-a-hat-day-friday-25th-march-2022/): Wear A Hat Day has become a nationally important day to raise vital funds and create awareness for Brain Tumour Research. Join in and you’ll be in good company with celebrity ambassadors and supporters like Dame Shelia Hancock DBE and TV personalities Danny Clarke and Sarah Beeny. You can don anything you fancy from an old straw sunhat or droopy beanie to something fun and très chic. It’s the taking part that counts. But to help you optimise your look here are a few tips. Choose a hat for your face shape: • Oval faces can get away with almost anything. However if wearing a large brimmed hat, tilt it backwards so it frames your face. Square or round faces: wear a large brimmed hat slanted • If you wear glasses choose an upturned brim style that won’t get in the way. If your face is long, balance out the length by wearing a side beret • A more square face can take something to soften it, such as feathers, veiling or rounded shape hats. Asymmetrical shapes and brims suit everyone and are very flattering along with rounded cocktail hats • Remember that if you tip the brim of your hat ,it should rest a thumb’s width above your Eyebrow • For small headpieces ensure that they are resting just above the eyebrow; there’s nothing worse than seeing the piece balancing on the top of the head • Hair should complement the hat. Hats nearly always look better with the hair worn up • Pick your hat first then your outfit. Try and keep the dress simple: it’s all about the hat.
