About us
Our heritage and values
Over 25 years we have established a reputation for excellence in delivering care, hospitality and retirement living opportunities.
Our founding directors had the vision to secure one of the earliest planning consents for the retirement village concept in the UK, Newlands of Stow, which remains one of the most prestigious and aesthetically beautiful places to retire to in the country.
Our sister village, Bridge House of Twyford, is also respected as one of the leading facilities of its kind.
Together with a management team who are experts in their respective disciplines, the group continues to innovate in everything related to retirement living and are striving to be one of the most successful retirement communities in existence. We see a move to this environment as a lifestyle decision, not one that must happen because of a sudden change in one’s needs.
We remain an independent enterprise and are therefore dedicated to providing bespoke components to everyday retirement living, an aspect often overlooked by many others. Our award winning team is focused upon providing a high quality environment with discreet and unobtrusive services to support you, should the need arise.
We are members of the Associated Retirement Community Operators (ARCO). We aim to operate all our retirement communities according to the principles laid down in the ARCO consumer code. The code sets high standards for retirement community operators and provides a benchmark for good practice.
Our Newlands Team
We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you on a more personal level. As the team at Newlands is such an integral and vital part of your daily life and well-being, it’s good to know that these are the people you will see and get to know well. In fact, we are justly proud of the fact that we have such a dependable staff team here that no agency staff have been used at Newlands for years and we intend to keep it that way.
Take your hospitality team for example, you’ll soon notice how hard everyone works to make everything truly special for you. From arranging menus, seating plans and table decorations to small celebrations and large events they are always busy crafting and organising away to ensure it’s all perfect.
Your concierge is based at reception. Besides helping with anything from your newspapers, post, social events and more she willingly takes time to help your relatives book local accommodation so they can stay near you on special occasions.
Your duty RGN (registered nurse) is supported by our dedicated care team. You’ll often see her interacting with residents, supervising the team, assisting on Doctor’s rounds and arranging medical appointments.
Your care and domiciliary assistants prove daily how willing they are to go the extra mile for everyone at Newlands. Ever smiling, nothing is too much trouble for your dedicated team of professional care and domiciliary assistants, they are at the very core of everything that goes on at Newlands.
Your General Manager is the linchpin of life at Newlands. As a manager and qualified nurse, they purposefully keep everything running smoothly and ensure our demanding standards of quality are maintained. And if that wasn’t enough, they also make a point of seeing everyone regularly for a chat.
As a Team, we make a point of celebrating and supporting many charitable events. Last year for example, we supported one of our colleagues to raise hundreds of pounds for the Little Princess Trust who provide free real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss and funding for vital research into childhood cancers. She bravely had over ten inches cut off her hair and she allowed this to happen in the salon as our staff and residents watched.
